8:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M.
It's time .... in fact, it's past due! The 12th and Chicon area needs our attention and needs our community presence.
Foster Heights Neighborhood, in conjunction with Kealing Neighborhood Association, is organizing a cleanup of the immediate area of 12th & Chicon, to include north to 13th Street, south to New York Avenue, east to Poquito, and west to Salina Street. This will include a cleanup of the alleys, sidewalks and empty, open lots.
This cleanup with be supported by Keep Austin Beautiful (tools, materials, etc.), we will have Austin Police Department officers present, and Code Compliance will be present with pickup trucks for large, bulky items found in alleys (furniture).
Foster Hts. conducted a cleanup a while back with the same entities involved, and it was a great success. This cleanup can be too .... but we need your energy, optimism and sweat for just TWO HOURS on July 14. Please get involved. It's a great community-confidence builder, and we can expand and do a cleanup of our own individual neighborhood in the future with our gained experience and success.
Please email me with your commitment to take part in this badly needed cleanup. Our presence and attention to this area will positively affect our hood. I have put out an email to all representatives of neighborhoods surrounding 12th and Chicon, requesting volunteers also.
I don't have every resident's email, so if you can think of someone who would like to participate on July 14, please forward the above info to them and have them email me with a commitment.
Best regards,
Linda/Foster Hts.
